“How can a young man stay pure?
By obeying Your Word.”
Psalm 119:9
There is something about keeping your heart pure that God delights in. He’s longing for you to be genuine with Him. He wants to know your heart, but there’s a thing I’m learning about Yahweh: He cares. He cares about your inner being, and He cares about what’s going on inside of you.
Hey y’all! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit,” and in today’s post, we’re going to be talking about genuineness. Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, You are Yahweh. You are the One we should trust. Forgive us for the ways we haven’t trusted in You, yet we ask that You continue to keep our hearts pure. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
“How can a young man stay pure? By obeying Your word.” Those are the words King David writes in a praise - a psalm - to God, letting God and the reader be aware of the way that one can stay pure.
Something I noticed about being pure is there is an ugliness involved. There’s a desire to be openly honest with God because that’ll be how one gets the healing they need.
If one is fixed on sheltering their feelings, then s/he won’t address them head on and bring them to God. You see, God cares about feelings, and He cares that you bring them up to Him. That way, you’d remain pure because you surrendered your heart to Him.
What does it mean to surrender? Check out my last post.
God wants relationship with you, and He wants you to be pure, so check with Him with everything. Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for caring about our emotions. Thank You for caring about purity. Help us to be pure by bringing everything to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
That’s all I have for today! Don’t forget these three things: you are loved, salty, and lit! 🧡
