The Renewal of Your Mind.
“As a man thinketh, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7, KJV)
The power of your thoughts. The mind is so powerful; it can control your life, but here’s the thing: you have the authority to control your mind.
Hey y’all! It’s your girl Julie, and I’m back with another segment of “Salty & Lit.” In today’s post, we’re going to be talking about the power of your mind. Let’s pray.
Father, Your Word is a light unto our paths. Help us to submit ourselves to Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
The Power of Your Mind
How many of you know that your thoughts are powerful? In fact, your thoughts can drive your behaviors, if you let it. That is why it is super important to guard your thoughts.
Don’t believe me? In Proverbs, in some translations, it says, “As a man thinketh, so is he….” That means, how a person thinks, that’s how that person is. If your thoughts are negative, most likely you’ll be negative. If your thoughts are cynical, you’ll come off as cynical. If you are critical, you’ll come off as critical. All of these stem from your thoughts, which essentially is part of your heart.
In Scripture, the Bible talks about the heart consisting of three things: mind, will, and desires (Troxel, 2024). That means, that your heart is the central part of your body guiding everything and the way you operate.
The Bible talks a lot about guarding one’s heart because out of it flows the springs of life (Proverbs 4:23). That means, if you’re not guarding your heart, you’re allowing your heart to influence you any which way in the way you live.
When you live a life of abundance, it’s because you have abundant thinking. If you live in scarcity, you’re probably living in a scarcity mindset. I’m not ignoring the fact that people may not be in abundant financial positions, but sometimes, if we lack and live as though we can’t get anything, we might take on a mindset where we’re living in scarcity longer than we need to be.
Friend, the mind is super important, and God calls us to renew our minds. He calls us to do it according to His Word. That way, we can live the way He wants us to: salty and lit people.
Let’s pray.
Father, You are good. Thank You for the gift of writing. Thank You for pushing me, and thank You for the person here today. I pray that they are renewing their minds daily with Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
That’s all I have for today! Don’t forget these three things. You are loved, salty, and lit! Talk to you soon! 🧡
