Mindset Matters TOO.
Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit,” and in today’s post, we’re going to be talking about mindset matters.
For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them] (Philippians 4:8, AMPC).
The Bible tells us to think on things that are true, but how many of us are focusing on what our minds are thinking on? How many of us are checking whether our minds are saying truth versus a false thing?
It’s important to be mindful of how our minds can trick us, or else we can be living lies without even knowing.
I’ve had many instances where I’ve believed a lie, and that impacted how I showed up in the world. For example, I often felt I had to be an expert at something, and when I struggled, I felt weak and though I didn’t matter, which 1. isn’t the truth because God tells me that I am the “apple of His eye” (Psalm 17:8), worth more than rubies (Proverbs 31:10), and more. It teaches me that my worth is not found in man; rather, it’s found in who God says that I am: worthy.
Yet if I believe a lie that I’m unworthy, I will live a lie like I’m unworthy, which is not true. We need to align ourselves with Scripture, to believe what God says over the enemy and ourselves, and live in truth.
“Salty & Lit” is all about truth (living out God’s Word, which is why it’s important to know God’s Word for ourselves to live it out). Sis, God wants to do a work in you, but your mindset matters. Let Him do the work and yield to His process.
