Fear.

“The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, and today we’re going to be talking about fear.

Heavenly Father, I come before You acknowledging fear in our lives. Help us to know that fear is a good thing when we’re in awe of You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

So fear… A four letter to describe reverence of something.

When we describe reverence, it means we respect something or give honor where it’s due.

For God, He deserves honor and reverence because He’s God. There are things He does that only He can do. For that, we give Him praise.

When we're in awe of God, that means we look at His qualities and stand amazed by who He is.

When we know God, we’re in awe of Him. That’s why we reverence Him.

For me, I’m learning to reverence God by being amazed by His qualities and nature. When you learn about Him and His nature in the Old Testament, you’re like “REALLY GOD? You did that?” But the thing is that He still can do that because He’s God of the Old Testament and the New Testament.

For that, He’s worthy of our praise.

Like I said, God is worthy of our praise because of who He is. Spend time in His Word, learning about who He is. Let’s pray.

Heavenly Father, You are good. Thank You for teaching us to be in awe of You. Help us to know You more and more and to love You well. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
