Your God.
God does not give you a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love, and a sound mind
So why do you fear CHILD?
Why do you fear the days to come?
Child, arise, into the post the Lord has given you.
Do not be afraid
The Lord your God
Will Be With You
Wherever You Go…
Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit.” In today’s post, we’ll be talking about an intergenerational God, the Lord your God. Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being righteous and holy and good. Thank You for being an intergenerational God. Help us to know that You’re our God. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Lately, I’ve been doing a Bible study, and it talks about how God is not just the God of our ancestors, but He’s our God too. This is not to say that God will match our expectations of Him, but He is a personal God, in which we have a personal relationship with Him.
In Exodus, God introduces Himself to Moses as “I AM THAT I AM” (Exodus 3:14). The Lord also introduces Himself to Moses as the God of Moses’ ancestors (Moses’ father, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in Exodus 3:6), demonstrating that God is an intergenerational God, but there comes a moment where God becomes your God. While Moses had an understanding of God being the God of his ancestors, God had his own relationship with Moses - one full of intimacy and love. Friend, it’s the same way for you.
God wants to be your God.
I grew up in the faith because my parents were Christians, and though it was nice to grow up in Christianity, it had to come to a point where I had my own relationship with God, growing in the faith, and you do too. You might not have been raised in a Christian home or you might’ve, but there comes point where you have to have your faith. You need to have your own relationship with God. What does that mean?
Know God for yourself. Know the God of the Bible, who is your God.
Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You are an intergenerational God. Teach us to understand that You want relationship with us too. Help us to understand what relationship looks like in this time. Help us to trust Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Well, that’s all I have for today! Don’t forget these three things: you are loved, salty, and lit! Talk to you soon! 🧡
