You are CHOSEN.

Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit,” and in today’s post, we are going to be talking about what it means to be chosen. Let’s pray.

Father, thank You for letting us know what it means to be chosen. Help us to live that out in our lives. Amen.

So chosen… According to Merriam-Webster, chosen means “selected or marked for favor or special privilege.” That means that you are selected for a specific position. Paul, an apostle of Jesus, was chosen. In fact, when he writes his epistles (one of the letters to the churches), he says, “This letter is from Paul, chosen by God” (Ephesians 1:1; Romans 1:1, NLT). That means, Paul was specifically handpicked by God to write these epistles and to do the work that God called him to do.

I want to turn it back to you. What does it mean to be chosen? What if you lived your life, knowing that you were handpicked by God for a specific task that you are doing right now? It can be daunting/scary at first, but God chose you, yes you, not because of anything that you could’ve done, but because of God Himself choosing you. There’s no one better to do the job than you, and it’s not to make you puffed up, but it’s to make God glorified.

In “Salty & Lit,” our main goal is to let our lights shine, so others can see our good works and glorify our Father, Abba, in heaven. When you do good works and do them excellently, it gives opportunity to point back to the Father.

So question for you is this: What would it look like for you to live your life like you were chosen? Would you live differently, or would you show up the same?

Let’s pray:

Father, You are so good. Thank You for reminding us that we are chosen. Help us to know we are chosen and live that out daily. Amen.

With that, don’t forget you are loved, salty, and lit! Talk to you soon! 🧡
