The Father’s Love
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called the children of God! (1 John 3:1)
Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit,” and in today’s post, we’re going to be talking about the Father’s love. Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love. I thank You that Your love for us knows no bounds. Help us to walk in Your love and Your truth that You love us with an everlasting love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Growing up, that was one of my favorite songs in the Chants d’Esperance (the Haitian hymnal book), and it’s because it serves as a reminder of God’s love for me.
Loosely translated, it means the following:
“The love of God is greater than
Everything that human tongues
And angels could say”
When we talk about His love, we talk about how great it is, and it truly is great. When you understand it or try to understand, you can’t fathom because it knows no bound.
Today, in Sunday school, we talked about how Jonah was in disobedience, yet God in His love sent a big fish to bring Jonah to deliver a message to a people who didn’t serve God. God was committed on delivering that message, so that these people would be saved. When we talk about Jonah, we can often talk about his selfishness, but in comparison, God’s love is selfish, in that he was willing to cause nature to go against Jonah, so that he would deliver the message God gave him.
I’m learning about God’s love in my own life, and I’m learning that He doesn’t play. You see, I used to think that God’s love was all soft, but I learned that sometimes, God’s love has to be rough, in the sense that He’s firm because of His love. If He let me do whatever I wanted, it wouldn’t be a sign of His love, and I’m learning to be grateful for it.
Friend, God’s love is vast, and I want to encourage you all to grow in His love and understanding. Let’s pray.
Father, You are so good. You are so kind. Your love is bigger than any tongue that people or angels can say. Help us to understand Your love and live in Your love. We thank You Abba. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
That’s all I have for today. Don’t forget these three things: you are loved, salty, and lit!
Talk to you soon! 🧡
