She is Called Daughter.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us. You call us Your own, and for that we are grateful. Teach us to know ourselves in You each day. In Jesus’ Name.
Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit.” How many of you know that you are called? You know God created you for a specific purpose and reason, and it’s why you’re here on this earth: to bring Him glory.
As salty and lit women, according to Matthew 5:17, our goal is to do good works, so others can glorify our Father in heaven. They’re not for our own gain; rather, they’re for the glory of God. What that means is that everything we do is unto God.
I can see that in my own life. As a teacher, I find it hard sometimes on when to use my “teacher voice” because there’s a balance on when you need to be strict and times when you need to be a little graceful with the kids. There are moments when I want to be hard, so the kids can “understand,” but God says, “No.” The flesh wants to do what I think is right, but the Lord reminds me that these kids need grace too and has put me in the classroom for a specific reason: to learn how to listen for Him and the kids.
One thing that I’ve learned is that I’m called. In the classroom, God has placed so many lessons in front of me, and I’ve learned not only about myself, but how to serve my kids better. They teach me about me, and though I am the one teaching them, I learn a lot from them.
They teach me how to be angry and not hurt others, and how to let things go quickly. They also teach me to be bold in sharing when someone hurts me, and they teach me how to love well, yet I wouldn’t have learned all this if I didn’t obey God’s direction to be in the classroom.
So while I am called to be somewhere, in the classroom, I’m also called to be a light - God’s representative - and learn whatever God wants to teach me.
So for you, what has God called you to do? What is He teaching you while you’re there? Where has God called you to serve? Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us. Thank You for teaching us that we’re Your own and that we are to represent You on this earth. Help us to represent You well. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Well, that’s all I have for today! Don’t forget these three things: you are loved, salty, and lit! Talk to you soon! 🧡
