Purity.

How can a young man stay pure? (Psalm 119:9, ESV)

Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit,” and today, we’re going to be talking about purity. Let’s pray.

Dear Father, You are Yahweh. You are good, and You are holy. Teach us to me pure the way You want us to be. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A few years ago, I heard Prophetess Tiphani Montgomery speak about how God is looking for a spotless bride, yet I didn’t quite understand it at the time, but I’m understanding it now: God is looking for a spotless bride.

You see God is spotless - that is He is holy and without sin. That also means He can’t be near sin for us that He can’t be near sin (anything that is dirty or wrong). It’s coming, that is Christ’s return, so that means we need to be spotless before Him. There are things that are happening in us, where God is calling us deeper, calling us to shed former things, so we can become more like Christ. It’s not easy, but His return is imminent, so we must get ready at all costs.

Think of the Parable of the Virgins: there were some who were wise and some who were foolish. The wise had gotten extra oil for the trip, whereas the foolish ones waited until it was too late to get some. By the time they returned, the bridegroom (Jesus) already came and they got left behind. It’s not the time to be safe, in the sense that we will have tomorrow to clean ourselves up. We have to get ready now, because we don’t know when Jesus is coming back, yet we have to be ready so we don’t miss out. Let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, You are Sovereign. Thank You for being kind and for teaching us obedience. Help us to number our days. You’re not far for Your return. Help us to be ready. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
