It is Finished.
Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, and I’m back with another segment of “Salty & Lit.” In today’s post, we’re going to be talking about the finished work of Christ. Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You are God. You are King, and You are Lord. Teach us to understand the finished work of Christ is finito. We just need to rest in it. Amen.
The finished work of Christ:
What can wash away my sins?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Those are the lyrics to a song I grew up listening to, and it’s a reminder that there is nothing that can cleanse us in front of God, except for the finished work (the blood of Jesus).
You see, He died for us (me and you, once sinners), and He gives us life because He conquered death. That means if we believe in Christ, we trust that our forgiveness is received by the finished work of Christ. That means we don’t need to go through heaps and hurdles to be in right standing with Christ. Rather, we trust in the finished work of Christ. What does this mean for us?
Are you trusting in Christ’s finished work, or are you trusting something else? Let’s check to see what we’re trusting in when it comes to our faith.
A way to test your faith is to ask God what you are trusting in. He will reveal things to you because His Word says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him” (James 1:5, ESV).
Friend, God desires to be in right standing with you and provided a way for you to enter into that - all you have to trust is trust in the finished work of Christ.
Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the finished work of Christ. Thank You that we live through Him. Help us to live lives that please You. Thank You Abba. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
That’s all I have for today:
Don’t forget these things: you are loved, salty, and lit! Talk to you soon! 🧡
