Hope Matters..

What happens to a dream deferred?

      Does it dry up

like a raisin in the sun?

      Or fester like a sore—

      And then run?

Does it stink like rotten meat?

      Or crust and sugar over—

      like a syrupy sweet?

      Maybe it just sags

      like a heavy load.

      Or does it explode?

Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit.” In today’s post, we’re going to talk about hope matters. Let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for teaching me about hope. It’s important for us to have hope, so we can stay focused on what truly matters: You. Help us to stay focused, and it’s in Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

I learned a little about hope today, and I discovered that hope carries one through seasons. In Colossians 1:5, the apostle Paul talks about hope, and their hope in what’s for them in heaven drives what they’re doing on earth.

So my questions to you are, “Where’s your hope,” “What are you hoping in,” and “What would it look like to hope in something?”

Friend, hoping is hard, in that you fight against what you currently see. Hope requires seeing beyond what’s in front of you. In Christ, we can hope because He is the hope of glory. Christ being the hope of glory means the fact that He dwells in us through the Holy Spirit, we can have this hope that we will be able to share in His future glory (Bible Hub, 2026). That means, there’s this sight that even though we can’t tangibly see God or share the glory, we will SOON.

What does that mean for you, sis?

What are you hoping in?

Let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being good. Help us to know that Christ is our hope and glory. Help us to number our days to seek You with our all whole hearts. We thank You Abba. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.

Don’t forget these three things. You are loved, salty, and lit! 🧡
