Fellowship.
Hey y’all, it’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit.” In today’s post, we’ll be talking about friendship.
On Friday, I went out with a few girls (Ashley and Abby), and I realized something that day: friendship is super important. You see, friendship is good because we all struggle with something, and friendship helps us open up and receive help from others.
During our conversation, we talked about struggles we were going through, and internally, I found myself nodding my head, agreeing to the struggle we were facing, but the thing is… one decided to be courageous and vulnerable with what was going on in her world.
How many times do we struggle, simply because we don’t ask for help? You see, help is there, but we don’t want to make anyone struggle with what’s going on in our lives.
But here’s the thing, sis: You have the ULTIMATE friend. His name is God, and when the struggles come, because they will, you can ask Him for help.
What does that mean practically? It means you can reach out to Him, knowing He’ll respond because He’s an ever present help in times of trouble.
What does that mean for you? You’re not alone! You might feel alone, but that’s farther from the truth. Friends might be there, and friends might not be there, but God is always there. When friends fail, God is there to help you.
I’ve been trying to run to God first when I’m dealing with something. Like, what happens when you know God is waiting for you to ask Him for guidance and wisdom over a situation? However, it’s not easy at times because you run to friends first, but I’ve found it’s been worth it because God will make known to you the path of life (the best choice for you), meaning if He knows the path of life for you, you would do yourself a great service by going to Him regarding it.
Friends, God created us for community, and He also gave us the Holy Spirit (John 14:26). You see that in Genesis 2:18 when God says, “It’s not good for man to be alone,” after creating the first human (Adam).
When we have community, we can get help in our time of need. When we have the Father, we have everything we need.
When we struggle, we can get prayer or pray ourselves, so my message to you is that: friend, it’s not good to be alone. God created you for community, so be in it.
Let’s pray.
Father, thank You for community. Thank You for life through You. Help us to know what community looks like in this season. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Talk to you soon! 🧡
