Convinced.
And I am convinced…
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,
“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:31-39, ESV, emphasis mine)
Hey y’all! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit.” In today’s post, we’re going to be talking about being convinced. Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father God, You are good. Thank You for Your Word. Thank You that it’s truth. Help us to be convinced in understanding Your Word daily. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
How many of you have ever been convinced about something? You might’ve not believed something initially, yet through someone convincing you, you change your mind about it. Paul, the apostle, talks about being convinced as well. The beginning of the passage talks about the fact that we are not condemned as children of God. Though we may have a sinful nature, we are not condemned before God, and God isn’t removing His love from us when we sin. Paul then asks whether there are things that can separate us from God’s love and even starts listing things, but Paul comes to the conclusion that nothing can separate us from God’s love.
What does this mean for us?
Nothing is able to separate us from God’s love. As Paul said neither height nor depth, nor angels nor rulers, nor powers, nor things present or things to come will ever separate us from the love of God. God’s love is constant. It can’t be changed, and when we are convinced of that, it changes how we live, sis. Let’s pray.
Dear Heavenly Father God, thank You for Your love, and that it’s constant. Help us to walk in Your love daily. We thank You Abba. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Don’t forget these things: you are loved, salty, and lit! Talk to you soon! 🧡
