No Condemnation.

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

(Romans 8:1)

Hey girl, I have some good news for you! If you are in Christ, you are not condemned. So if you’ve been carrying around heavy feelings of condemnation lately, hear me when I say: that is not from God. Before we jump in, let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the truth that whom the Son sets free is free. Thank You that You desire a spotless bride, and that includes our thinking. Teach us to number our days and to be led by Your Spirit alone. Help us to lean on You daily. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

When we talk about condemnation, we’re talking about harsh, severe disapproval. It’s like a critic pointing a finger, refusing to let you live something down.

Think about today’s cancel culture. When someone messes up or does something wrong, society is quick to write them off completely—even if that person is genuinely asking for forgiveness.

I’ll be honest with you: I’ve caught myself taking part in cancel culture before (I know, right?). But the Holy Spirit has been challenging me on this. Who am I to say a person can't change? Who’s to say that in a few years—or even in a single moment—that person won't repent and turn their life around?

In the book of Romans, the Apostle Paul talks about this exact struggle.

In Romans 7, Paul gets real and vulnerable about his battle with sin. He basically says, "I want to do what’s right, but I keep doing the very thing I don't want to do!" He acknowledges in Romans 7:12 that God’s law is holy and good, yet he still wrestles with his fallen nature.

Can you relate? I know I can.

But Paul doesn't leave us stuck in the struggle. He reaches a powerful climax in Romans 8:1:

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."

That means even when Paul was beating himself up over his flaws, that condemnation didn't hold weight—because in Christ, the verdict has already been passed: Not Guilty.

So, what does this mean for our everyday lives?

  • Drop the heavy shame: That crippling shame you feel after you make a mistake? You don't have to carry it. You don't need to beat yourself up before you're "allowed" to come back to God.

  • Run to the Father: Instead of hiding in guilt, run straight to Him, confess, and receive His free gift of forgiveness.

  • Grace is not a license to sin: Understanding grace doesn't mean we get a free pass to keep sinning on purpose. It means we are actively in the race against sin—and through Christ, we are more than conquerors.

You can't defeat sin in your own willpower or strength, sis. You need His strength. When the enemy tries to throw your past in your face, fight back with the Word of God.

Let’s pray.

Dear God, thank You for teaching us that we are more than conquerors through Christ. Help us in our sin struggle to recognize that we are already triumphant over it through Christ’s resurrection. When thoughts come trying to condemn, help us to fight with Your truth that there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. We thank You Abba for everything. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

That’s all I have for today!

Don’t forget these three things: you are loved, salty, and lit!

Talk to you soon! 🧡
