Your Calling Matters.
What are you called to do? For me, I’m called to teach. I deliver God’s message wherever I go.
God’s calling is irrevocable, but you have a choice on whether or not you fulfill the calling God has for your life. In history, there’s a man who wasted and hid his talent. He was afraid that he decided to hide, and when the Master came back, the Master was not pleased, so my question to you is this: Are you squandering the gifts and calling God has given you?
The Bible states in Romans 11:29, “The gifts and calling are irrevocable,” meaning they cannot be taken away, but it is your job to steward it well. Don’t take advantage of the calling God has for your life.
Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, and I’m back with another segment of “Salty & Lit.” In today’s post, we are going to be talking about calling and repentance.
Let’s pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before You saying thank You for calling us. Thank You for the fact that we are alive in You. Teach us to know Your ways. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Everyone has a calling in his/her life, but it may differ from person to person and how it shows up in each season. For some, it’s to teach, for others, it’s to write, for others, it’s to pray, but we all have a calling.
Callings come from God, and calling is what you were created on this earth to do. While we were created to share the Gospel with all people, our calling differs in what we do in living out our lives.
For me, I’m a teacher. I teach all day, and when I’m not teaching a class, I’m learning or teaching someone how to do things. It’s how God created me, so I’m informed by how I act in the world to my calling.
When God calls you, He calls you. When Moses was called by God, I’m reminded that he had a lot of excuses. He said he stuttered, he said he wasn’t the man fit for the job, He asked God to find someone else. In the end, God was upset with Moses for his actions, but He still used Moses, yet God’s call for Moses didn’t change. He knew Moses had a call (He called him) and would see him through the call.
God isn’t going to leave you empty-handed when He calls you for something. He’ll supply what you need somehow. That’s why it’s important to have intimacy with the Lord.
God can start you off by explaining your calling, but sustaining intimacy with God is far more important than the calling on your life. If you “fulfill” your calling without intimacy with the Lord, then it’s not a calling. Calling requires intimacy because how are you going to do something Someone wants you to do without either consulting them or getting to know the vision behind it? That’s nonsense.
