Heart.

Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,

Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit,” and in today’s post, we’re going to be talking about the heart. Let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, the heart is deceitful, who can know it? That’s what Your word says. Help us to not trust our hearts, but to trust what You say. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

What if I told you the heart is deceitful? God literally tells us in Jeremiah 17:9 that the heart is deceitful, who can know it? Oftentimes, our hearts lie to us about things, believe false things, yet God’s truth remains the same. That is why we need to remind ourselves of His Word.

The other day, I engaged with negative thoughts and allowed myself to get into a negative space, yet I reminded myself of God’s Word, but the truth is though I reminded myself of God’s Word, did I engage the way He wanted me to? You see, we can recite verses, but until we know it has power and use it as the double-edged sword that it is, it won’t do anything for us.

Friend, God’s weapon is the sword for us. We use it to take thoughts captive, and a way we can do that is by seeing if it’s true or not. If it’s true, we accept it, and if it’s not, we don’t.

Let’s fight back against what we’ve been believing.

Dear Heavenly Father God, we come before You Yahweh. Thank You for this time to write. Help us to know Your Word and Your truth in that it sets us free. Thank You Abba. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
