Well-Pleased.

Hey y’all! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit,” and in today’s post, I want to write about being well-pleased. Let’s pray.

Heavenly Father, You are kind. Teach us to know Your ways. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

In Matthew 3:17, Jesus was baptized: “And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased’” (NKJV). One of the things I love about this passage is that before Jesus started ministry, the first thing that God announced publicly is “This is my son, with whom I am well pleased.” He claims Jesus as His Son, and He affirms Jesus by saying God is pleased with Him.

Identity plays a big role in our walks with God. If we don’t know who we are, then we’ll be walking about trying to find our identities in people or things. Oftentimes, we’ll try to get approval from others because we’re not well-rooted in who we are, and you might be asking, Julie how do I get rooted in Christ?

I’m glad you asked, friend! Well, here’s one! You have to know who you are, and the way you do that is by spending time with God and yourself to know how He created you. He fashioned you in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13; Jeremiah 1:5), so He’s more than willing to let you know how you really are.

Look at what God says you are:

  • You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

  • You are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26).

  • You are blessed beyond measure (Ephesians 1:3).

  • You are the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13).

  • You are above and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13).

  • You are the righteousness of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21).

You see, all these things affirm who God says you are, so when someone (or even yourself) tries to say otherwise, you refute that thought, and that’s what it means to take a thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5). You test it against God’s word, so you can know if it’s the truth. If it’s true, accept it. If not, you don’t have to accept it.

Friend, God has plans for you, and it’s up to you to step into the identity that He’s called you to be: salty and lit women. Let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, You are righteous and good. Thank You for Your work and the truth that You set people free. Help us to walk in freedom and in the identities You called us to live. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

That’s all I have for today! Don’t forget you are loved, salty, and lit! Talk to you soon! 🧡
