Healing Begins.

Hey everyone! It’s your girl Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit.In today’s post, we’re going to be talking about healing. Let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, You are so good. You are so kind. Teach us what it means to be healed in You. Thank You, Abba. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

There is a woman in the Bible who had a need, but she often sought comfort through the men in her life. In John 4, we meet a woman from Samaria who went to draw water, and Jesus met her there at the well. The thing is, this wasn’t a random encounter. In fact, when the chapter opens, it says that Jesus had to go through Samaria (John 4:4). It’s as if He had a special appointment with her, and she didn’t even know it yet!

While there, Jesus revealed many things about her life. He told her that she had been married five times and that the man she was currently living with was not her husband—things she had never disclosed to Him.

That’s the thing about Jesus: He will reveal things to you about yourself that others may never know. People might not know your story, but Jesus does. In His all-knowing nature—because He is God—He knows the hearts of mankind.

As the conversation continues, the woman says to Him, "Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship" (John 4:20). The Samaritans shared a historical background with the Jews, but because of long-standing religious and cultural divisions, the Jews generally looked down on the Samaritans. Some people believe the woman was trying to change the subject, while others think she was asking a sincere spiritual question. Either way, Jesus eventually reveals Himself to her as the Messiah. She believes Him and accepts His words as truth.

Through her encounter with Jesus, the woman goes back to her town and tells others about Him. That's the power of a testimony. When you truly encounter Jesus, you naturally want to tell other people about what He has done for you.

What does giving a testimony look like?

Give a brief summary of what the Lord has done in your life. Include the key details:

  • Who were you before?

  • What did God do?

  • Where and when did it happen?

  • What did you learn?

  • How has your life changed?

When you give a testimony, the glory should always go to God. If it does, praise God. If it doesn't, it may be time to ask yourself who you're really glorifying in your story.

Let's pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the power of a testimony. Help us to remember that through our testimonies, we can point others to You. Give us the courage to share what You have done in our lives with humility, always bringing glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.

That’s all I have for today! Don’t forget these things: you are loved, salty, and lit! Talk to you soon! 🧡
