Forgiven.

Hey everyone! It’s your girl, Julie, back with another segment of “Salty & Lit,” and in today’s post, we’ll be talking about what it means to be forgiven.

Let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, You are good. Thank You for forgiveness. Help us to know what forgiveness truly means. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Forgiveness, according to Merriam-Webster, means to cease to feel resentment against (an offender) : pardon (to allow (an offense) to pass without punishment).

Reading that definition got me: how often do we say we “let things go,” yet we hold on to guilt or shame. When God says we’re forgiven, He nailed to the cross what we did, and He doesn’t hold resentment towards us. However, that’s only for those who believe in Christ. If you don’t believe in Christ or don’t ask God for forgiveness, you’re not forgiven. What does that mean for you?

Check where you are in Christ. For those that know God but haven’t accepted Him yet, time is running out. Make sure you do so, so you can be in right standing with Him. That means, you’re forgiven and letting Jesus be the Lord of your life because you accept His sacrifice for your sins, which are any acts of disobedience against God. When you sin, you deserve the penalty of death (Romans 3:23a), but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 3:23b): letting us know that God has a sacrifice that lets us be in right standing with Him. All you have to do? Accept it.

And what’s the good news in this?

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1a). That means, there is no guilt or shame for those who have accepted Christ. We have boldness to access Christ’s offering and God’s presence through our faith in Jesus’ blood. What does that mean for you?

Accept Jesus’ sacrifice and know that you are forgiven. He died for you, and now you can have right standing with God if you believe.

Let’s pray:

Father, You are good. Thank You for showing up. Help us to know Your word and what it truly means to be in right standing with You. Amen.

That’s all I have for today. Don’t forget you are loved, salty, and lit! Talk to you soon! 🧡
